The film revolves around Gao, a female worker in a textile factory, who aspires to become a pastry chef. Besides work, Gao tries to save her wages to afford the ingredients for her baking practice. Meanwhile, her heart wavers between the shadows of a factory supervisor and the enduring presence of a childhood companion, as she seeks complete love from different people to fill the emptiness within her.
Into the Unknown portrays the narrative of a young woman aspiring to freedom but grappling with an inner reluctance to a complete solitude, which results in her conflicting emotions.
