Swimming in the Dark is a narrative short film that centers on female growth, LGBTQ+, and youth elements. The story unfolds during a significant swim competition, which plays a crucial role to their future academic paths. Wen, a high-achieving and self-demanding girl on the swim team, grapples with anxiety and panic due to a period of stagnant performance. Ann, her close teammate, is the first to notice Wen's distress as she navigates this challenging phase in her life. The central theme revolves around exploring "how to self-reflect in relationships and bid farewell" through the interactions between these two adolescent girls.
